The females of many species of mosquitoes are blood-eating pests. In feeding on blood, some of them transmit extremely harmful human and livestock diseases, such as malaria. Fleas are holometabolous insects, going through the four life cycle stages of egg, larva, pupa, and imago (adult). Adult fleas must feed on blood before they can become capable of reproduction. More Info
Cockroaches are probably one of the most disgusting insects on the planet. These scurrying, scuttling insects can crawl into your home through tiny cracks, bringing pollution and disease with them. Cockroaches can carry harmful bacteria and they are also a significant cause of asthma, and their presence can exacerbate symptoms for asthma sufferers. Cockroaches also love urban environments and warm weather, which means that Houston is, unfortunately, a perfect roach breeding ground. More Info
There are several different kinds of ants but the two most frustrating are the Carpenter Ants and the Fire Ants. Fire Ants pack a serious punch and unfortunately, they love the conditions here in Texas. Fire ants can be a terrible nuisance because they build their nests in moist soil such as your lovingly watered flower bed and yes, you’re nicely manicured lawn. More Info
The order Coleoptera includes more species than any other order, constituting almost 25% of all known life forms. About 40% of all described insect species are beetles (about 400,000 species) and new species are discovered frequently. Some estimates indicate the total number of species, described and undescribed, as high as 100 million, however; a figure of 1 million is more widely accepted. The largest taxonomic family, the Curculionidae (the weevils or snout beetles), also belongs to this order. More Info
